Tennis Court Fencing

Normally green or black pvc coated chain link supported on either green or black powder coated tubular or angle iron steelwork. It is important for durability that both the wire core of the chainlink and the steelwork are galvanised and of a suitable weight.

The standard fence height is 2.75 metres, with 3.6 metres where there is a particular hazard (e.g. road or river) or boundary where it is more important that balls are retained on the court. It is not uncommon and is often an attractive and more sociable arrangement for the height of the fence to be reduced to 0.9 metres through the central section on one or both sides of the court, where ball loss should be much less frequent.

Where other sports are to be played on the same playing surface, most will benefit from a stronger type of mesh, particularly where larger, heavier balls are to be used.
